رحمان صحراگرد متولد سال 1338 در شیراز، دانش آموخته کارشناسی ادبیات انگلیسی از دانشگاه شیراز(سال 1367)، ارشد آموزش زبان انگلیسی از دانشگاه تربیت مدرس (سال 1370)  و دکتری زبانشناسی کاربردی از دانشگاه لستر انگلستان (سال 1379) بوده و در حال حاضر با 27 سال سابقه استخدامی رسمی، استاد پایه 27 دانشکده ادبیات وعلوم انسانی دانشگاه شیراز است.

وی تاکنون راهنمایی و مشاوره 208 رساله دکتری تخصصی و پایان نامه کارشناسی ارشد را به عهده داشته و بیش از 93 مقاله علمی - پژوهشی در مجلات معتبر داخلی و بین المللی و بیش از 75 مقاله در همایش های ملی و بین المللی به چاپ رسانده است.

صحراگرد در حال حاضر عضو هیات تحریریه 3 مجله علمی پژوهشی با مجوز وزارت علوم تحقیقات و فن آوری است. ایشان همچنین دوره سه ساله دوم سردبیری مجله آموزش مهارتهای زبانی دانشگاه شیراز را مدیریت می کنند.

رئیس بخش زبانهای خارجی و زبانشناسی دانشگاه شیراز به مدت 6 سال پیاپی، معاون پژوهشی دانشکده ادبیات وعلوم انسانی دانشگاه شیراز به مدت 2 سال، رئیس دانشگاه فرهنگیان استان فارس به مدت 2 سال و رئیس دانشکده ادبیات و علوم انسانی دانشگاه شیراز از دی 98 تا کنون از سوابق اجرایی وی است.

شرح وظائف آقای دکتر رحمان صحراگرد که طی حکمی از سوی ریاست محترم دانشگاه از تاریخ 24/9/98 به مدت دو سال به ریاست دانشکده ادبیات و علوم انسانی منصوب گردیدند بدین شرح می باشد:

  1. تلاش در مورد بومی سازی علوم انسانی مطابق با ارشادات مقام معظم رهبری
  2. استفاده از نظریات اساتید محترم دانشکده به خصوص واگذاری اموری که مربوط به آنان می شود.
  3. رشد احترام متقابل و تکریم افراد اعم از اعضاء محترم هیأت علمی – کارکنان محترم و دانشجویان عزیز
  4. تلاش برای انجام فعالیت های بین رشته ای و بالا بردن سطح کیفی پژوهشها در سطح بین المللی
  5. تلاش مستمر در استفاده از تخصص اساتید محترم در قالب قراردادهای پژوهشی با خارج از دانشگاه و انجام پروژه های کاربردی
  6. استفاده از اساتید جوان در حوزه اجرائی
  7. ایجاد فضای با نشاط دانشجوئی
  8. تلاش در جهت رشد اخلاق گرائی در زمینه های آموزشی- پژوهشی و فرهنگی
  9. تلاش در جهت ایجاد رضایت شغلی و آرامش در محیط کار برای بالا بردن بهره وری کارکنان
  10. . شتاب بخشی به رشد تولیدات علمی و ارتباطات بیشتر بین المللی-ایجاد هماهنگی لازم بین مدیریت دانشگاه و مدیریت دانشکده به منظور پیشبرد بهتر امور اجرائی
